A source with knowledge of the situation says that a bunch of teams have made exploratory calls for Terrell Owens services. One of those teams are the Seattle Seahawks.
The nature of all the calls, which have come at different times of the offseason, have been very preliminary.
However, The Seahawks at one point were looking into bringing in Brandon Marshall. They could be out of the wide receiver market after selecting Notre Dame’s Golden Tate in the second round of last month’s draft or could be looking for veteran help at WR to solidify the unit.
Owens is expected to find some work at some point only a handful of teams have ruled out signing him. The interest level isn’t high just yet, but look for T.O. land in a city near you soon. Last season, Owens caught 55 passes for 829 yards and five touchdowns with the Buffalo Bills.
Owens, 36, ranks third on the NFL’s all-time list in receiving yards (14,951) and touchdowns (144), and he’s sixth in catches (1,006). He started his career with the San Francisco 49ers (1996-2003), then played for the Philadelphia Eagles (2004-05) and Dallas Cowboys (2006-08) before joining the Bills last season.
