Sleeper Picks

If your looking for a list of updated sleepers look no further

Running Backs

Jackie Battle – Kansas City Chiefs – No more Jamaal Charles means someone needs to take over. With Thomas Jones coming not through Mr Battle is the next guy to take the step as a featured back for the Chiefs.

Javon Ringer – Tennessee Titans- With Chris Johnson not him self these days look no further than Javon Ringer. Ringer is now in the rotation and he’s getting equal the carries as Johnson.

Stevan Ridley – New England Patriots
Ridley was drafted in the third round of the 2011 draft by the New England Patriots. He will be behind BenJarvus Green-Ellis and Danny Woodhead on the active roster and will compete with second round draft pick Shane Vereen for playing time, but his bruising style of running should earn him a number of carries on the goal line. More goal line carries = more touchdowns = more fantasy points.

Alfonso Smith – Arizona Cardinals With Wells always  banged up, the Cardinals may turn to Smith more down the road. He was definitely more effective than veteran Chester Taylor in Week 3, but that doesn’t mean he’s a must add this week. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on the running situation in Arizona during the week, but keep an eye on Smith.

Dion Lewis – Philadelphia Eagles Drafted in the fifth round as a complement to LeSean McCoy, the small but speedy running back has the potential to be a sleeper in fantasy football this season. Don’t expect him to carry the ball a lot, but he should be a valuable receiving threat out of the backfield.

Delone Carter -Indianapolis Colts The Colts newly named No. 2 running back could be a huge factor if Addai is injured this season — and possibly even if he’s not if Peyton Manning’s injury forces the Colts to lean on the running game. He’s become the favorite over Donald Brown and could vulture a few touchdowns in Indy this season. The Colts did let last season’s vulture, Javarris James, go in their recent roster cuts.

Wide Receivers

Jeremy Kerley – New York Jets –  Someone has to step up in place of  Derrick Mason. That guy is Jeremy Kerley.  He is slowly but surely building chemistry with Sanchez.

Dezmon Briscoe - Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Somebody has to get some  looks opposite  Mike Williams.  If in need take a flyer on him.

Terrance Austin – Washington Redskins - with Santana Moss gone for two months he could be a sleeper pick up folks. John Beck and Austin have chemistry back to the preseason.

Jason Hill – Jacksonville Jaguars - Hill continues to show he’s becoming a valuable weapon for QB Blaine Gabbert, and he is worth adding in all leagues if you need help at WR.

Niles Paul – Washington Redskins – Yet another Redksins wide receiever.  This WR position is something you will have to monitor closely peeps.  Shanahan called this guy a potential star in the NFL.  Last week he recorded his first two catches in Week 7.  I’m just saying… take notice and keep an eye out for him.

Damian Williams – Tennessee Hasselback has gained some trust in Williams lately with Britt going down with injury. He caught a TD in back to back weeks in week 4 & 5. He just recently had 60 yards against the Colts on Sunday. With Hasselbeck getting everyone involved there is no go to guy with the Titans so if in need take a flyer.

Demaryius Thomas – Denver Broncos – Thomas continues to get love from Tebow, though not as much as his season debut.  Georgia Tech stud has racked up 37 receiving yards and a touchdown in his first two games and could make for a quality Fantasy option in the second half of the season.

Danario Alexander-St. Louis Rams I’m a sucker for Danario. I loved his potential last season when he got a chance to start, and I think he’ll be able to make an impact as a deep threat on a Rams team that just let Donnie Avery walk. He would only be drafted in the deepest of leagues since he’s not even a starter for the Rams right now, but he’s definitely one I’ll have my eye on.

Denarius Moore-Oakland Raiders I still like Jacoby Ford this season, but Moore is his rookie twin. The coaches and team love him, and if he ends up a starter, I could see stashing him for those games the Raiders will open up the passing game. The offense there is, however, supposed to run through Darren McFadden this year. Derek Hagan‘s another to watch in Oakland if he ends up a starter. Hagan has made plays all preseason.

Victor Cruz-New York Giants Last year’s preseason darling for the Giants has been quiet this year, but he’s healthy and probable to start in the slot for New York. Eli Manning hasn’t had a good preseason, but if he brings it together (or if there’s an injury to either of the Giants’ starting wideouts), Cruz would definitely be in line for some stellar performances. For now, he’s just one to watch or stash in deeper leagues.

Eric Decker-Denver Broncos Decker is a big possession guy that made a lot of noise this preseason for the Broncos. Be on the lookout for him this season!

Kealoha Pilares-Carolina Panthers
Pilares was drafted in the fifth round of the 2011 draft by the Carolina Panthers, who boasted the NFL’s worst record in 2010.
He is an explosive young playmaker looking to earn his due on an up and coming team playing with a rookie quarterback. His chances at succeeding will increase even more if the team trades Steve Smith.

Greg Little- Cleveland Browns  A second round draft pick by the Browns in 2011, Little will be given every opportunity to earn playing time on a franchise that is far from stacked with wide receivers. After all, the Browns have to throw to somebody.
He could easily end the season as the team’s No. 1 wide receiver. Scoop this guy up in your fantasy draft.

Tight Ends

Lance Kendricks- St. Louis Rams Kendricks was selected in the middle of the second round in this past year’s draft, which is pretty high for a tight end. He should start immediately, and even if he doesn’t, expect him to contribute more and more as he becomes accustomed to playing in St. Louis. He is a fantasy sleeper.

Dennis Pitta-Baltimore Ravens When the Baltimore Ravens allowed Todd Heap to leave several days ago, they brought on the Dennis Pitta era in Baltimore. A fourth round pick in 2010, Pitta will compete with Dickson to become the main tight end for the Ravens. Either way, he should become a dependable target for quarterback Joe Flacco in 2011.

Jared Cook -Tennessee Titans He is expected to break out at some point this year and he may just be a diamond in the rough at the Tight End position this year. Don’t sleep on him.

Jake Ballard – New York Giants - With Kevin Boss now gone someone has to step at the Tight End position.  That guy is Jake Ballard.
