2009 I’m a Beast – Chris Johnson

A man that carried the ball and his team, should have been the MVP but will have to settle for the record books and being the 2009 I’m a Beast winner! Chris Johnson has speed, burst and agility that now puts him on the elite level. It’s arguable who is better, Adrian Peterson or Chris Johnson but for our money we are taking CJ. He is a game changer who can take it to the house from anywhere on the field. He played for most of the year on a team that wasn’t a real passing threat until Vince Young came in later on and starting making things happen. That means for the most part he faced a Defense that was geared up to stopping him and they still couldn’t do it. Read more

Jerome Harrison: Beast of the Week (Week 15)

The Cleveland Browns have had a tough go of it in 2009. They have gone for most of the season finding themselves on the losing end of many ballgames. They have had QB issues bouncing between Derek Anderson and Brady Quinn before finally settling on the latter. Jamal Lewis has seemed to reach a valley in his career and rookie RB James Davis was shelved for the year after a car accident injured his shoulder. Enter Jerome Harrison who has made the most of his opportunity. In Week 15, the Browns faced the Chiefs and Jerome was a one man wrecking crew. If you are a numbers guy than you will love this…34 Carries for 286 Yards with an 8.4 yards per carry average. He had a long of 71 and found the endzone 3 times. If you are a highlights guy than you will enjoy Harrison’s record setting day!

Beast of the Week: Robert Meachem (Week 13)

Talk about a day! Robert Meachem should be credited with keeping the Saints undefeated as he balled out! The biggest play of the day was after a Drew Brees interception, Meachem streaked to the DB and ripped the ball out of his hands and raced down the sideline for 6! Offensively he finished the game with 8 catches or 143 yards and a touchdown. His longest was 53 yards. With Robert coming into his own, the Saints add just another weapon to an already potent offense.

Hat’s off to Robert Meachem who showed the hustle, grit and determination to be this week’s “I’m a Beast”!!

Beast of the Week: Drew Brees (Week 12)

The football waiting until Monday Night for the highly anticipated battle of the QB’s! Drew Brees vs Tom Brady is as good as it gets, with all due respect to Peyton Manning. Everyone wanted to see if the Saints were for real after starting off 10-0 and wondered how Brees would fair against a team that could score points as well as them. Well, Brees responded in a big, big way. He was as perfect as a QB gets in this game, finishing with 18 for 23 with 371 yards and 5 TD’s. His passes were crisp and extremely accurate. If Drew and Co’ continue to play with this precision they will be very tough to beat!

Hat’s off to Drew Brees who now has his 3rd “I’m a Beast”!!

Beast of the Week: Wes Welker (Week 11)

The New England Patriots suffered their first loss of the season to the New York Jets way back at the beginning of the season. Week 2 to be exact. This time around they relied on ole #83 to carry the load and he did just that. Wes Welker caught 15 balls for 192 yards an a TD. His long was 43 yards and the Jets simply couldn’t cover him. He added 11 on an end around but did most of his damage through the air.

Hat’s off to Wes Welker who is the Week 11 “I’m a Beast”!!

Sidney Rice: Beast of the Week (Week 10)

The Minnesota Vikings have a ton of weapons on offense and sometimes one of them will get lost in the hype of the others. With the likes of Brett Favre, Adrian Peterson and Percy Harvin it is easy to overlook a guy like Sidney Rice. Not in Week 10! Rice had the best day of his career and was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week. He finished the game against the Lions with 7 catches for 201 yards for an average of 28.7! Sidney was a 2nd Round pick out of South Carolina, the state he was born and bred. With the Nickname – “Showtime” Sidney lived up to that name on Sunday. Read more

Randy Moss: Beast of the Week (Week 9)

Randy Moss didn’t have the most spectacular game of his career, stat wise. He did however change the game in many ways.
