Oakland Raiders reunite with Charles Woodson

The Oakland Raiders reunite with Charles Woodson on a one year deal, 1.8 million dollar deal. The Raiders decided to bring back their former No. 4 pick in the 1998 nfl draft. Woodson spent eight years with the Raiders before takings his talent to the Green Bay Packers. The deal has a $700,000 dollar signing bonus and has the potential via incentives to be worth $4.3 million. Some thought the Broncos would have landed Woodson over the Raiders seeing that the Broncos look like they’re ready for a Super Bowl run. THE SKINNY: Even though Woodson is going on 37, he has a shot to compete for the starting job with Safeties Tyvon Branch and Usama Young in the mix. The Raiders may choose to use Woodson in a rotational role to versus having him out there full time.

Michael Crabtree has torn achilles

Follow @GayleESaunders Bad news for 49ers nation as WR Michael Crabtree has tore his Achilles tendon during OTAs. The plan is for Crabtree to undergo surgery as soon as possible. Last season some players recently have come back from the same injury, such as Buc’s Da’Quan Bowers and Raven’s Terrell Suggs. Some other players had setbacks with their rehab as Jason Peters of the Eagles missed all of last season. THE SKINNY: Crabtree has a chance to make it back if all goes well with his surgery and rehab. The question is, how effective will he be in 2013 for the 49ers.

After 13 years in the NFL, Brian Urlacher retires

One of the greatest linebackers to play for the Chicago Bears, Brian Urlacher chooses to step down from the game.

"After spending a lot of time this spring thinking about my NFL future, I have made a decision to retire," he wrote in a statement. "Although I could continue playing, I'm not sure I would bring a level of performance or passion that's up to my standards. When considering this, along with the fact that that I could retire after a 13 year career wearing only one jersey for such a storied franchise, my decision became pretty clear."

Stevie Johnson back to practicing with the Bills

Good news for Bills camp as WR Stevie Johnson is back in the mix at practice. Johnson was cleared by doctors to resume practicing and he was able to get reps at Tuesday’s OTAs.

"It was great to see him," OC Nathaniel Hackett said. "It was great to see him run some routes instead of being on the side. We've just got to work him back in."

THE SKINNY: Anytime you can get your #1 wideout back in camp it’s a good thing, The Bills won’t rush Johnson back into the mix fully with his back strain, but just having him back earlier than expected is a win for EJ Manuel and Kevin Kolb.

NFL looking to tweak dates for it’s official league year

Follow @GayleESaunders The NFL is looking to tweak the dates for its official league year, and will reportedly move next year's draft out of April and into May. The league's site reports that the target start date for the 2014 draft would be May 15. Meanwhile, the site for Super Bowl L in 2016 will be decided today, with San Francisco the favorite over Miami. The loser in the 2016 bidding would then face off against Houston for the 2017 Super Bowl.
