Cato June – Not just an ordinary man!

Skinnypost was started back in August of 2009 and in our short inception I have had the priviledge to chat with some football players via social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. Some of the players that I have reached out to have not had the interest in recepricating with people they don’t know…and honestly that is understandable considering their fame. In a world like we have today one can never be too cautious so I won’t fault anyone for staying private. Others however have always been very gracious and given time to say “hello” or made the time to chat about music, sports and online gaming interests. Leaving the football fan with a feeling that these are just regular people like you and I, Cato June is one of those men. Once you dig deeper, you see he is anything but regular…he is spectacular.

A hero to the many children he's influenced!
Cato turns 30 years old on November 18th and in his young life, he has been there – done that. He went to Michigan were he played college football for the biggest crowds in any football arena. He went on to play professionally for the Indianapolis Colts were he was a Pro Bowl selection in 2005 and a Super Bowl winner in 2006.

- A beast on the field!
When his time was done in Indianapolis, Cato went on to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers where he played for two season’s in 2007 – 2008. After leaving Tampa Bay, June went on to the Houston Texans where he had the unfortunate situation of a broken forearm. There isn’t much that young man who was born in Riverside, CA hasn’t done. From high school in Washington D.C. to College in Michigan to celebrating being a world Champion with Peyton Manning, Cato has seen it all. But what Cato still does is what makes him special.
The June family, Cato and his wife Nicole started the Cato June Family Foundation. In our usual fashion, we will let Cato tell you what it’s all about, from his website…
“My wife Nicole and I founded the June Family Foundation to serve disadvantaged and at-risk youth in Tampa and Washington, DC. The Foundation’s current priority program area is 59 Academy. Get ready for unconventional, strategic, and cutting-edge youth initiatives from the Academy. The Foundation will continue it’s efforts to assess local and national community needs while structuring future program focus areas. We challenge you to become a member today as we partner with the community in equipping our youth to be successful at all levels. While many young people every year set their goals on becoming NFL players, less than 0.2% will ever realize their dream. While I always tell kids to never give up on your dreams, we feel this presents an excellent opportunity to expose youth to lucrative business and professional career opportunities that exist in the multibillion dollar Sports-industry! Some of these opportunities include sports agency, scouting, team ownership & operations, sports apparel design & manufacturing, and coaching, just to name a few.”
“On the field, I was able to achieve all-pro status tackling NFL’s toughest athletes. Off the field, I am equally determined to be an all-pro tackling illiteracy, poverty, and to inspire more inner-city youth to consider careers on the business side of a robust Sports industry. Join our membership team today and together we will make a world of difference in assisting our youth to realize their financial, educational, and professional dreams!”
The Cato family sees the importance of helping people in the communities that he has been a part of. A man that takes the time to say hello to a fan, the time to chat with someone that is interested in a moment of his time, the time to make a huge difference in the lives of America’s youth. We urge to visit the Cato June Family Foundation website and make a donation if you are able. If the world was filled with more men like Cato, it would be a better place to live.
