Weekly Recap- Week 11

Week 11 is in the books and we still have two undefeated teams in the New Orleans Saints and the Indianapolis Colts.  Raiders bring the Bengals back to reality and the Chiefs skin the Steelers at home.  Lets go around the league and give you the highlights of all this weeks games!

New Orlean Saints vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers
It wasnt so pretty in the first quarter, but the Saints exploded when their offense started clicking in the 2nd quarter on. Drew Brees had 187 yard spassing and 3 TDS. The Saints get the big W and are still undefeated!!!

Atlanta Falcons vs New York Giants
This game had wildcard playoffs all over it. The Giants played tough and pulled this one out. They showed alot of heart, but It doesnt hurt that Michael Strahan can give one helluva an motivational speech!

Miami Dolphins vs Carolina Panthers
Another team with a big injury with Ronnie Brown going down, but Ricky Williams had 119yds and 3 tds on the day and showed you why he was a heisman winner. The Dolphins are 5-5 and in the hunt for a playoff spot.

Buffalo Bill vs Jacksonville Jaguars
David Garrard had just three game-winning drives in his first 58 career starts. Now, he has two in the last two weeks. Garrard threw a touchdown pass to Mike Sims-Walker(notes) with 56 seconds remaining and Jacksonville beat the Buffalo Bills. Congrats on your head coaching debut Coach Perry Fewell! : /

Philadelphia Eagles vs Chicago Bears
The Philadelphia Eagles dont ever make anything to easy, but with Jay Cutler the one time gunslinger, a bit gun shy these days. The game ended on an interception by Cutler. After last weeks game it only seems fitting.

 Seattle Seahawks vs Minnesota Vikings
Favre completed a career-high 88 percent of his passes for 213 yards and four touchdown passes. It was Favre’s 22nd career game with at least four touchdown passes, surpassing Dan Marino. The Vikings delivered their most complete performance of the season and rolled with another big W.

Cincinnati Bengals vs Oakland Raiders
Before the season even started, the Oakland Raiders picked this week’s game to dedicate to Marquis Cooper, their former special teams star who died in a boating accident this year. Cooper’s family was watching, it was only fitting that the Oakland Raiders win this one for him and his loved ones. Hats of to the Raiders this week.

Washington Redskins vs Dallas Cowboys
Romo scrambled for a first down, then completed seven straight passes, the last one, a pass to Patrick Crayton for a touchdown with 2:41 left that gave the Dallas Cowboys a 7-6 victory over the Washington Redskins, which preserved their spot atop the NFC East.

San Francisco 49ers vs Green Bay Packers
Aaron Rodgers grew up rooting for the 49ers. They were also the team that snubbed him on draft day in 2005. Guess who got the last laugh?

Denver Broncos vs San Diego Chargers
The Chargers won a big one against division rival Denver Broncos. The Broncos woh were once 6-0 are now at 6-4 and right in the thick of the wild card madness, while the Chargers are sitting pretty as they take control of the division.  The Chargers win big and leave the Broncos Nation perplexed!

Pittsburgh Steelers vs Kansas City Chiefs
The Steelers came into Kansas City Polamaluless and Kansas City came ready to battle with the young gun Jamaal Charles, who came up huge. The Steelers have to hope Polamalu gets better soon. Word on the streets they have a month to wait!

Cleveland Brown vs Detroit Lions

One thing that we can say…this was the game of the week.  Two teams with nothing to lose, let it all hang out literally.  Brady Quinn threw for 304 yds and 4tds.  Matthew Stafford also passed for 422 yards and 5 tds.  One of those Tds came with no time on the clock after a pass interference penalty gave the lions the ball at the one.   Either way you look at it…a great game and a gutsy performance by both teams.

New York Jets vs New England Patriots
The New England Patriots had something to prove A) that they were not the same team that played the Jets earlier in the season.  B) That they can rebound from a tough loss.   Wes Welker showed the Jets whose boss by cathching 15 passes for 192 yards.  It didnt help that Sanchez threw 4 ints, 3 of those going to Patriots Leigh Bodden!

Indianapolis Colts  vs Baltimore Ravens

Indianapolis has won its last four games by a combined 10 points. The Colts usually rely on Manning, but these days everybody is contributing in wins.  The bend dont break defense kept the Ravens in check this weekend and left Baltimore fans thinking..are we gonna make the playoffs??

Arizona Cardinals vs St. Louis Rams
Warner threw for 203 yards and two touchdowns building a 21-3 cushion, before getting knocked out of the game with a head injury. The Rams offense, led by Steven Jackson who had 116 yds and 1 td helped them make a come back. The Rams fought hard and tough to the end but came up just short. The Cardinals have won 6 of the last 7 games and remain unbeaten on the road. They take full control of the NFC West..can you say cruise control to the playoffs?

No love for my Bois’ fighti’n to the wire VS the Cards?

I don’t know how many people I told this past week that Stover would kick the game winner against us…our biggest off season mistake, not keeping him.

  3. @ Michelle – Was it money reasons why they let Stover go? I heard he was Harbaugh’s ear in the locker room, which helped with communication issues.

@WR_83 Must have been some kind of typo ;)

  4. Michelle Jarvis says:

Stover is golden from 40 yards and in…automatic. but his kick offs aren’t as far anymore and he’s a little wobby from outside of the 40. Last year we carried two kickers on the roster…Hauscka for kick offs and long field goals, and then Stover for field goals 40 and in. Supposbly Harbaugh and Ozzie didn’t want to carry 2 kickers this year, to free up a roster spot. And now here we sit at 5-5 and we have had two games lost due to missed field goals. Now that Stover (who turned down an offer from the Jets the day free agency started on the CHANCE that we would need him during training camp) is having success in Indy our office is doing the song and dance about contracts not being able to come together in the off season and how if we could’ve had Stover here we would’ve had Stover here. Stover spoke very candidly on 105.7 the fan the first day of free agency about how he wanted to stay in Baltimore and how he went to Ozzie with the offer from the Jets and they told him to take it if he wanted but they couldn’t guarantee him anything at that time. This is our managements/Harbaugh’s mistake plain and simple. Can you tell I’m still sour about it? haha

    • Ha wow, nice insight. Yea i really thought Stover was Baltimore for life! Thats kinda sucks for fans when the organization tells you one thing just to make you happy. Sometimes they tell you what you want to hear.

With Indy at least has the chance to play in doors, might have a longevity indoors rather than outdoors.
Its funny that he booted 3 55 yarders!!!! He probably was thinking take that Baltimore.

I remember the Eagles telling fans that they are doing everything they can get a number 1 receiver for years!

  5. Michelle Jarvis says:

oh and just to add…Stover hit 3 55 yard field goals in warm ups before the game in OUR stadium on Sunday.

  6. Michelle Jarvis says:

Stover and his family were on the field post game Sunday with Todd Heap and his family and Stover spoke a little bit with the press after the game. Vinatieri supposbly has about 2 more weeks til he is recovered from his injury and it sounds like Stover is still open to returning to Bmore after he is finished with the Colts. But I’ve heard rumors that the Colts are going to hold onto him for the rest of the year though. With our luck, I’m sure they will.
