Week 12 is in the books and what have we learned? The Colts can come from behind and win like it aint no thaaang. The Vikings, lead by the Wrangler wearing Favre looked pretty dam good! Larry Johnson isnt washed up, and he’s making it known sports world! In Tennesse its Vinceanity! as the Titans and Vince Young come from behind in amazing fashion against the Cardinals. (Most likely the game of the week!) Lets go around the league and give you the highlights of all this weeks games!
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Atlanta Falcons
Backup quarterback Chris Redman threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Roddy White with 23 seconds remaining Sunday, and Atlanta pulled out a 20-17 victory over the woeful Bucs who now fall to 1-10. Not to shabby after your offensive stars in Mattt Ryan and Michael Turner go down with injuries.
New York Giants vs Denver Broncos
Josh McDaniels is an emotional coach who stocked his roster with passionate players. All of them were on full display on Thanksgiving night in the Denver Broncos 26-6 win over the Giants. Brian Dawkins inspired play led a Denver defensive revival and the offense did its part by controlling the clock. The game ended a 4 game losing streak.
Carolina Panthers vs New York Jets
The Carolina Panthers live and die by the arm of Jake Dellehomme, unfortunately Jake’s arm cost the Panthers another one. The Jets were lucky enough to play another team whose Quarterback is more likely to throw an int than their own in Mark Sanchez, who is coming off his own 5 INT game against the Patriots. The Jets look to build off this win and make a run for the playoffs as they sit on the bubble.
Miami Dolphins vs Buffalo Bills
Offense is back in fashion in Buffalo now that Perry Fewell, a defensive coordinator, of all people—has taken over as interim head coach. In delivering Fewell his first career win, the Bills erupted for 24 points in the fourth quarter in a 31-14 victory over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
Seattle Seahawks vs St. Louis Rams
The Seattle Seahawks ended their road woes in an environment that was far from intimidating, a stadium half-filled at best. It was a heavy dose of Justin Forsett set, who had career highs with 130 yards and two touchdowns and the go-ahead score came on the Seahawks’ third defensive touchdown of the season in a 27-17 victory over the St. Louis Rams on Sunday.
Oakland Raiders vs Dallas Cowboys
Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys had their way with the Oakland Raiders, piling up their most yards of the season and getting another solid performance from the defense. Dallas beat Oakland 24-7 on Thursday for its sixth win in seven games, guaranteeing it will remain atop the division going into the final month. Lets see if they can win in December, because we all know in the last decade Cowboys always play their worst ball come christmas shopping time.
Washington Redskins vs Philadelphia Eagles
Nothing was going right for the Eagles when Donovan McNabb decided to give a pep talk. Then it was time for another comeback win. David Akers kicked a 32-yard field goal with 1:48 remaining and the Eagles rallied for a 27-24 victory over the Washinngton Redskins on Sunday. A week ago, McNabb led the Eagles (7-4) to a late touchdown in a 24-20 win at Chicago. The Eagles Nation will take the wins, but these days it sure aint pretty.
Green Bay Packers vs Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions used to take a lot of pride in playing on Thanksgiving. Is Barry Sanders ready for his comeback? Lately, the Lions have been getting embarrassed when the nation tunes in to watch them. Aaron Rodgers matched a career high with three touchdown passes and Charles Woodson grabbed two of his team’s four interceptions, giving the Packers a 34-12 win over Detroit. I think the Packers had “How Stella got her groove back” on repeat lately, because they look like they have swagger back and look ready for the playoffs.
Kansas City Chiefs vs San Diego Chargers
The Chargers converted four turnovers into scores in a 43-14 win over Kansas City on Sunday to run their winning streak to six games. LaDainian Tomlinson scored two touchdowns and moved into 10th on the NFL’s all-time rushing list. Philip Rivers threw two touchdown passes to Antonio Gates as the Chargers improved to 8-3.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs Baltimore Ravens
In a fierce rivalry thats showcased several of the most notable NFL players over the past 10 years, a couple of backups made their mark in memorable fashion. Add third-string quarterback Dennis Dixon to the list of notable Pittsburgh Steelers that includes Hines Ward, Ben Roethlisberger, Plaxico Burress and Troy Polamalu.Paul Kruger, welcome to a club that includes Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Tony Siragusa and Shannon Sharpe. Kruger intercepted a Dixon pass to set up a 29-yard field goal by Billy Cundiff with 6:42 left in overtime, and the Baltimore Ravens outlasted the Steelers 20-17 on Sunday night.
Cleveland Brown vs Cincinatti Bengals
Less than two weeks after the Cincinnati Bengals signed him as an inexpensive insurance policy, Larry Johnson showed he can still be the leading man. Want to grind it out? Give him the rock. The new man on campus ran for 107 yards on Sunday, leading the way as the Bengals ran the table in the AFC North by taking out the Cleveland Browns 16-7.
Indianapolis Colts vs Houston Texans
The Indianapolis Colts have perfected the art of the “comeback” in their undefeated fashion as they make their way into the playoffs. Peyton Manning threw for three touchdowns and the Colts rallied from a 13-point halftime deficit Sunday for a 35-27 win over the Texans, their 20th straight regular-season victory. Indianapolis (11-0) is one win shy of the New England Patriots NFL-record 21-game run from 2006-08. The Colts can tie the record if they beat Tennessee at home next weekend. What can we say…dont count Peyton and the colts out in the 4th quarter. Just dont do it!
Arizona Cardinals vs Tennessee Titans
Kenny Britt caught the pass and jumped to his feet— only to be stripped of the ball with time ticking away. No worries. On the next drive, Vince Young gave the rookie a chance for redemption (cue Bob Marley’s Redemption Song) , and he came up big leaping up to grab Young’s 10-yard pass in the back of the end zone as time expired to cap the Tennessee Titans 4th quarter rally to a 20-17 victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. Either way you look at it, teams dont want to play Tennesse Titans right now!
Chicago Bears vs Minnesota Vikings
Minnesota’s visions for the Brett Favre show this season… just run the offense, let the running game and defense do most of the work, and join in the fun. The Vikings are definitely enjoying themselves, but the gray haired gun slinger’s surgically repaired right arm is doing mucho work. Favre completed 32 of 48 passes for a season-high 392 yards and three touchdowns, and the Vikings intercepted Jay Cutler twice in a 36-10 victory over the Chicago Bears on Sunday. Do you think Jay Cutler thinks his arm is stronger than Favre’s…just a thought. lol
Jacksonville Jaguars vs SanFrancisco 49ers
Alex Smith threw darts all afternoon. San Francisco’s defense got to the quarterback and forced fumbles. The 49ers finally got the kind of mistake-free outing on both sides of the ball coach Mike Singletary has been waiting to see from his team. Smith completed short touchdown passes to Frank Gore and Vernon Davis in his best game yet this season, highlighting an all-around sound day for San Francisco in a 20-3 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. The Jaguars remain on the Wild card bubble!
