Week 8 Power Rankings

This week are going to the Rankings a bit different…in Win Tiers! So without further ado, here are the Rankings heading into Week 8! As always, if you disagree with the Rankings, jump in and tell us why!
The Undefeateds!

Saints have won big games at home, tough games on the road and shown they have what it takes to come from behind with a powerful offense. The cream of the NFC crop right now!

The Colts leapfrog the idle Broncos in this weeks Rankings. They haven’t played tough competition to date but they are doing what they should and that’s beat them…badly!

The Broncos stay undefeated after taking Week 7 off. They travel to Baltimore this weekend and face a hungry Ravens team that has lost 3 straight…should be a good one with teams coming off their bye’s!
The 1 Loss Group
The Viking lose a tough one in Pittsburgh but we kind of saw that coming. The Steelers are a tough team at home and are starting to regain their Championship form. For the Vikes, how do you not run the ball on from the 1 yard line when you have AP in the backfield?
The Two Loss Teams

The Patriots are starting to click and they jump into the Top 5 even with 2 losses. They have put up some historic numbers having outscored two opponents 86-0 before the Bucs finally found the endzone, granted it was against to teams with a combined 0-14 record!
The Bengals, along with the Broncos, are the team that is suprising everyone this year! They have played solid on both sides of the ball and really shocked us with their beatdown of the Bears. Carson Palmer appears to be fully recovered from the Knee surgery he had years back.
The Steelers pick up a nice win against the Vikings and they did it the old fashioned way…with Defense. As long as Big Ben doesn’t turn it over, this team should be back in the playoffs!
The Cardinals are starting to hit their stride and showed the football world that they are to be taken seriously when talking about NFC contenders. The Offense is dynamic but the way that Beanie Wells ran against the GMen was the most eye-opening!
The Giants are now losers of two straight and their two losses come against the only winning teams they have faced. They need to figure out how to beat the better teams or they will lose control over the tough NFC East…and fast!
The Cowboys have been inconsistant in some of their games, they struggled against the Chiefs and won convincingly against the Falcons. The bottom line is they are 4-2 and their only losses are against teams with a combined record of 11-2.
The Falcons need to start winning against good teams or they aren’t going to be ranked in the top 15 for very long. What happened to the 2008 Michael Turner?
We really wanted to put the Eagles ahead of the Falcons but the Raiders loss is just awful, we mean really, really awful. They came back and beat down the Redskins this weekend and have a big test against the GMen on Sunday….should be a good one!
The Packers are starting the pieces toghether and if they can keep their QB upright the offense will be just fine. They used to have a WR named Greg Jennings who was pretty good but I don’t know if he is still on the roster (sarcasm intended!) Big test this week against the Vikings in Lambau!
The Losers of Three
If we believed in the Shoulda Woulda Coulda montra this team would be much higher in the Rankings. A BS call against the Patriots, a couple “could Go either Way” calls against the Bengals and a missed FG against the Vikes has put the Ravens in this group!
Houston has firepower on Offense and the Defense is getting better each week. Catching the Colts will be tough but a Wildcard isn’t out of the question!
The Jets got back on their winning ways with a big win out in Oakland. They have a chance to avenge their loss against the Dophins this weekend. Thing they have been studying the Wildcat much?
The Chargers are behind the 8 Ball in the AFC and need the Broncos to have a late season collapse in order for them to catch up. As sad as it appears, it seems that LT’s best days are well behind him.
The Bears were suprisingly beaten down by the Bengals last week…it wasn’t so surprising they lost but in the fashion they did it. Jay Cutler still forces too many throws downfield!
San Fran has now lost 3 straight and they need to figure it out…honestly, it looks like they may have but replacing S. Hill with A. Smith. Alex lit a fire on the offense and added some explosion putting up a quick 21 points to almost mount a comeback.
Skinnypost really likes watching Maurice Jones Drew play. The little man has a ton of heart but unfortunately he is a one man show on offense. Off the top of my head, I can’t name one WR in Jacksonville and that’s not a good thing!
The Teams with 4 Losses
Football is a funny game…the Dolphins were one half away from knocking off the Saints but suspect Playcalling cost them a huge win. If they did pull it off, they are the best 3 loss team, instead they drop down to the best 4 loss one!
Going on the road and beating the Jets and Panthers is no easy chore but the Bills did just that. The offense is starting to pick it up and we really like the young Jarius Byrd in the secondary. The Bills need to keep the momentum going and show the promise they had against the Pats in Week 1.
The Panthers have serious issues at QB where the once solid Jake Delhomme is now a shell of his former self. WHERE HAVE YOU GONE STEVE SMITH? Is it his fault…we don’t know. Could be a combination of things. Any team that has D. Williams and J. Stewart has a chance!
The Seahawks need some work, mostly at RB and on Defense where the injuries are mounting up. Sometimes you need a bit of luck to get through a 16 game season in tact and so far the football gods have been challenging the Seahawks resources.
Those with 5 Losses
The Lions come off their bye and will face the winless Rams, once Matt Stafford returns they will have decent firepower on offense. This team is young and is still learning how to win but they have the pieces to make a decent puzzle.
The Raiders offense is flat out terrible and the Coaching staff finally had to pull JaMarcus Russell last week. He has regressed and has flat out horrible mechanics and accuracy. They have talent but then again they should after picking in the Top 10 of the Draft every year!
Washington has more problems than a mathbook. They are what we call a “Soup Sandwich”…you know what a “Soup Sandwich” is?…a big mess!
6 Loss Teams
The Chiefs will head into the bye week and try to regroup. It must have been heartbreaking to lose in the fashion they have. Either they are blown out or they battle to lead only to lose in Overtime.
The Titans only have 6 losses because they haven’t played 7 games yet. They come off the bye and have to face a division opponent in the form of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Could they pick up that 1st win? Sure, anything is possible!
The Browns Yards For vs Yards Against is as far apart as the Grand Canyon! They need a lot of help but this game is played in the trenches and aside from Joe Thomas, the Browns don’t really have any mashers on their lines.
The 7 Loss Teams
80k people bought tickets to the Bucs vs Pats game in 8 minutes and they sold out. By halftime more than half the crowd was gone…maybe Londoners know more about American Football than we thought!
There is two people that we really, really feel bad for. Leonard Little and Steven Jackson! Both deserve better than this. The Rams have more issues than Sports Illustrated!
