Could defensive coordinator Mike Nolan be the reason for someone to unretire? In the case of retired Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder, that would be a yes.
Crowding recently told the Atlanta Journal Constitution he wants back in if the Atlanta Falcosn will have him next season. Read more
Pre-Draft Visits: Which Prospects are Meeting With Your Team?
By Gayle Saunders
Follow Him on Twitter
League rules allow each team to bring in 30 players for predraft visits. No on-field work is allowed. The visits are simply an opportunity for the players to sit down with the coaches, as well as the personnel people, for any additional questions, football or otherwise.
Not every player accepts every invitation he receives, so teams don’t always get the first 30 players they requested. But coaches often will look at video with players to get a sense of their football awareness, or put them to work, marker in hand, on the dry-erase board to see how they dissect certain game situations.
One important fact to note from last years draft is, 21 of the NFL’s 32 1st round selections had confirmed pre-draft visits and/or workouts with the NFL teams they were selected by. So there is a good shot that the players below will get drafted if they’re on the board during the teams draft selection.
Below we’ll be updating the chart of pre-draft visits, if you have a player visit you’d like us to add to the chart leave a comment and I’ll add it. Thanks for your help in advance!

Vick returns to Atlanta for the first time as a starter
Marion Barber: A No Go vs. the Falcons
By Gayle Saunders
Follow Him on Twitter
We have good news for the Atlanta Falcons and bad news for the Bears. Espn.com is reporting that backup running back Marion Barber will be held out of Sunday’s opener with a calf injury
Bears Head coach Lovie Smith spoke on Marion
“Marion Barber is getting better,” . “He won’t play this week.”
Recently the Bears kept Barber out of Friday’s practice. Barber hasn’t practiced with the team since he injured his calf against the Titans on Aug. 27
In the first two preseason games he had 20 carries for 94 yards. 45 of those yards came against the opener against the Bills. He sustained an injury on a short yardage run in the 1st quarter against the Titans.
According to offensive coordinator Mike Martz, the team will miss Barber’s skills as “a violent runner.”
“He’s a guy who can certainly jump cut and do all those things,” Martz said. “But he’ll take a defender on, too, and break tackles. He’s kind of a complete back in that way.”
With Barber a no go Bears will look to Kahlil Bell. During the preseason he’s averaged 4.5 yards per carry.
“Great opportunity [for Bell], you have to be ready,” Smith said. “Kahlil has been in [this] position before. He’s a pro. He’s had a good camp. There’s a reason why he’s on our football team right now, and if you’re a backup, this is the time that you want. If your number is called, the team expects us to have a running back in that position that can get the job done.”

With a lockout looming, that could mean two things for the Atlanta Falcons…no football for the superbowl contenders next season …and having to say good-bye to all world tight end Tony Gonzalez.
Gonzalez had ideas of hanging it up after the Falcons loss to the Packers in the NFC divisional playoffs in January, however he knew in his heart that this team was loaded with talent and ready for a Super Bowl run in 2011.
The Atlanta Falcons tight end is just keeping it real with him self and his 35 year old body. He feels great physically, but with a lockout that would force him to take a year off from football and he isn’t sure if his body could handle the year away.
Gonazalez said Tuesday in a sitdown interview with Rich Eisen on “NFL Total Access.”
“That would be the only reason I would more than likely not come back,” Gonzalez said. “If we miss the whole season and I have to sit out a year, I just think, at 35, sitting out a whole year of football and waiting for it to come back, I just don’t know if my body could. I just want to be smart about it.”
Gonzalez has two years under his belt with the Falcons and still holding on to the idea of playing his third year with the team.
“We got a good football team, that’s the first reason,” Gonzalez said. “It’s a great opportunity to go out there and handle some unfinished business.”

Well known rocker, Jon Bon Jovi wants to make it known to the NFL world that he wants to be an owner sooner rather than later.
Bon Jovi has spoke to Falcons owner Arthur Blank to talk about owning up to 15 percent of the team. Bon Jovi said in a statement on Tuesday, however the Falcons have not spoken on the matter as of yet.
“Since helping to establish the Philadelphia Soul Arena Football team — from its inception through our 2008 championship season — I have always made clear my desire to someday enter the NFL,” Bon Jovi said through spokeswoman Tiffany Shipp.
Blank acknowledged earlier media reports that Bon Jovi was considering becoming a minority owner for $150 million. But just prior to the Super Bowl kickoff, the team cited confidentiality as the reason it declined to discuss the possible deal.
While at the Falcons playoff game against the Green Bay Packers. Bon Jovi was dressed in red and black on the sideline. He posed for a picture with former Falcon Warrick Dunn, who already owns a portion of the Falcons.
