Just when you thought Chad Ochocinco couldn’t make anymore headlines the Bengal receiver will try his hand or should I say foot at soccer. Chad will take a shot playing for the MLS team Sporting Kansas City later this month.
Via Twitter:
“#OCNNBreakingNews I’ll be playing on the MLS team @SportingKC on march 22nd, thank everyone involved especially coach Vermes #EPIC”
The club announced Wednesday that after the four-day tryout, they would make a decision whether to extend his trial period. As a kid Ochocinco grew up playing soccer and till this day he remains a huge supporter and fan of the sport. Ochocinco is friends with soccer greats, Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo and Ronaldinho.
Peter Vermes, manager of Sporting Kansas City says “we’re excited to see how his skills will translate.”
With Ochocinco getting a shot on the soccer field he is now able to follow another one of his childhood dreams.

Terrell Owens fined $5,000 for tweeting

I can’t lie Twitter is an amazing thing, probably something that Terrell Owens and I would agree on…Too bad it cost him $5,000 for one tweet!
The League fined Ownes $5,000 for tweeting too close to Sunday’s kickoff. A league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter that Owens violated the NFL’s social media policy.
On Tuesday, Owens made it known that he violated the policy by sending a tweet about an hour before Week 5′s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Not only players, but coaches are not allowed to use social networks 90 minutes before a game, during a game or after a game.
Last season the policy went into effect and the only other person to be fined for such actions was Owens trusty teammate Chad Ochocinco, who was fined $25,000 for tweeting right before and during a preseason game.
About an hour before the Bucs game, Owens sent a tweet that he said was part of his work with a charity that helps children in Kenya.
“A lucky fan wearing my jersey 2day will get a signed football by Me & Ocho Cinco! My asst will pick U out!! Good luck!” he tweeted.
Owens told the press that he didn’t mean for it to go out late, the only problem was he left his home late, and forgot to take his cell phone with him. He he had an assistant bring his cell phone to Paul Brown Stadium. By the time he posted the tweet the Bengals were on the field warming up.
Well either way, it was for a good cause and we take our hats off to Terrell Owens for giving back to a charity that helps children in Kenya!

The AFC North has seen a bit of action this offseason and the top teams are gearing up for a Super Bowl run. The Ravens added a great weapon in Anquan Boldin, the Bengals did the same with Terrell Owens. The Steelers are going to have to go without Big Ben Roethlisberger for the 1st 4 games and the Browns have made some changes upstairs with the addition of Mike Holmgren to the front office and a new Quarterback. This Division is indeed one of the toughest, hardest hitting Divisions in all of football. Let’s Breakdown the North and attempt to forecast how it all shakes out. Read more

On Wednesday at St. Elmo’s Steakhouse in Indy Chad Ochocinco bought dinner for 64 of his closest friends (Twitter Friends that is) whom he had never before met. Ochocinco spread some love by treating random people to dinner.
Ochocinco sent an open invite on his Twitter page and folks arrived in droves. The small steakhouse only fit 64 people and it was a full house. It was said that Ochocinco was very cordial and took great care of the employees.
For all Ochocinco fans he has promised future dinner outings at road games, in Atlanta on October 24 and New York on Thanksgiving. Ochocinco says he does this in every NFL city to allow people to see the “real him.”
Ochocinco also brought a special dinner guest, his homie and fellow Bengals wide receiver Terrell Owens aka Batman.
Skinnypost.com takes our Hat off to Chad for treating his fans to dinner and most importantly having fun with his fans. He spent probably close to $10,000 last night on 64 people he didn’t previously know. You can best believe they will not forget the expereience.

Looks like Mike Brown, who is the Bengals owner is having second thoughts on bringing in receiver Terrell Owens.
Mike Brown said Monday that the Bengals organization is in talks regarding a possible contract with Owens’ agent, Drew Rosenhaus. Owens had a worked out for the Bengals in late March, however they decided to go with receiver Antonio Bryant, who they signed for a four-year deal.
Quarterback Carson Palmer is working out with the 36-year-old Owens in. Palmer has reported back to coach Marvin Lewis and so far the reports on Owens have been good.
Mike Brown is known for giving players with baggage extra chances. No moatter what has been reported, Brown said he sat down with Owens back in March and was really impressed with him.
Chad Ochocinco has lobbied for the Bengals Organization to sign Owens. Both of them are also good friends…oddly enough they also have the same agent Drew Rosenhaus.
