Champ Bailey – 100 yd INT (2005 AFC Divisional vs. New England)

Champ Bailey & Andre’ Goodman leave game with injuries

In week 3, the Denver Broncos get the opportunity to face the fired up Colts and Peyton Manning. The major concern is Champ Bailey left the stadium on crutches with a ankle injury following Denver’s 31-14 win over Seattle on Sunday night, to top that off Andre’ Goodman had an injury to his right thigh and left in the second half.

“It happens,” Bailey said. “I should be all right, though.”

Coach McDaniels said on Monday Monday that Bailey didn’t have any broken bones and he’s hopeful both Bailey and Goodman will be able to play against Indianapolis on Sunday.

If Bailey and Goodman aren’t able to go, that leaves the Broncos with rookie cornerbacks Cassius Vaughn and undrafted corner out of Mississippi and Perrish Cox, a fifth round pick out of Oklahoma State. Both the young corners made plays this weekend as Cox had an interception and Vaughn recovered a muffed punt.

BREAKDOWN – AFC West

By Steve O’Reilly

In the Wild Wild West one thing that is constant lately is change itself. The Chargers have been the stalwarts of the Division over the last half decade with the Broncos, Raiders and Chiefs constantly changing direction. Phillip Rivers and Co’ have played exceptional football in the latter half of every season he’s been in the league, to the point that he is Undefeated during his career in the month of December. Their late season charge coupled with the Broncos trend for a late season collapse has led to the Bolts owning the AFC West. This season, the Raiders seem to be catching some attention with a new QB and some continuity from the coaches. The Chiefs proud franchise is in a rebuild and Matt Cassel heads into his second year under the Scott Pioli regime. Gone are some Pro Bowlers, entered are some young Rookie studs but it appears as though the outcome will likely remain the same! Let’s Breakdown the AFC West! Read more
