According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie said he would welcome Desean Jackson back to the nest. The key words here are “if the right terms develop he would be welcomed back.”
“DeSean is a terrific player,” Lurie said. “I think his attitude and his whole approach in the final month of the season was terrific — high energy. I think he started to realize and get it. So I would welcome him back. If the right terms develop he would be welcomed back. We have the leverage of, obviously, we can do what we choose to do and control his situation. Terrific player and I really don’t agree with those that don’t think that he’s tapped his potential fully. I think he hasn’t and he has a chance to get even better.”
Desean Jackson just finished his fourth year with the Eagles and from what I saw, the man has totally outplayed his contract. His four years in Philly haven’t gone with out controversy, however he has done allot of great things in a Eagles uniform, as well as as off the field.
The question in Philly is…How much is Desean Jackson worth to the Eagles? The rumor mills say Jackson was looking for around $10 million per year. A price I don’t see the Eagles front office paying. Jackson had 58 receptions, 961 yards and four touchdowns on the year, which didn’t really help his case for a monster contract. Philadelphia has the franchise tag in their back pocket as well, which they could easily use to tag Jackson in February.
Jackson has made his mends with the team and apologized for his actions which lead to distractions during the season. He has let it be known that he would love to return to Philly next year, lets hope the Eagles and Desean can see eye to eye in 2012.

10.
Jason Witten has the opportunity to play for America’s team aka the Dallas Cowboys. When you have a QB that likes to throw you the rock early and often each game it helps. We can’t forget his seven pro bowl selections are nothing to blink at either, which will gain you instant street cred with fans. Jason Witten represents the gutsy play making new breed of tight ends with a old school feel. Fans gotta respect that ,and that’s why you see his jersey on this list.

DeSean Jackson represents some of the new playmaking blood in the NFL, sometimes brash and not afraid to pop his own collar…he has the ability to back it up. You have to love a player who talks the talk and walks the walk. Fast as lightening he’s a pretty exiting dude to watch! Being a big time playmaker put his Jersey on the map with fans. I’m still surprised the Eagles haven’t given this kid a pay raise especially with the Amount his jersey sales are bringing in. Pay the man Eagles!

Miles Austin represents the type of athlete thats come a long way. When I say a long way, I mean he wasn’t drafted, he’s a hard worker, and nobody gave him anything, he worked for it. He also plays for America’s team! On the flipside it never hurts that you’ve dated one of the most celebrated booties of the century belonging to Kim Kardashian. Whether its hard work on the field or dating stars…Austin has earned his mark in the NFL and fans easily respect that.

Now everything I just wrote about Miles Austin can be applied to Tony Romo to a T except swap Kardashian for Jessica Simpson and Carrie Underwood. Although Romo has a had a rocky start this year he’s another gutsy gunslinger and whether you like him or not Romo has done things his own way. The guy has so much charisma he can make Terrell Owens cry for him…that’s impressive.

6.
Drew Brees represents the “stand up guy” who means what he says and says what he does. After the Chargers gave up on him and sent him packing, Brees bounced back and won a super bowl for the city of New Orleans and became a Super bowl MVP. He made the Saints relevant when speaking about the NFL’s elite teams. Fans respect a natural born leader off the field and a field general on the field. ____________________________________________________________________________________________
5.
Clay Matthews comes from a football family. Check. He plays in a Football town like Green Bay. Check. He started rocking long blond hair before the release of the Twilight Series trilogy. Check. The guy scares the beegezus out of quarterbacks. Check. He’s a Super bowl Champ. I’d have to say that’s quite the resume.

4.
Troy Polamalu aka the Defensive Player of the Year last year, is the type of player whose is admired on and off the field. This cat is relentless and he has a motor that doesn’t quit. He shows fans how to be awesome on the field and off the field. And honestly who do you know that has a better shampoo commercial than Polamalu’s?

3.
Michael Vick took his game to another level last season for the Eagles, and the NFL world took notice. Vick’s ability on the field almost mirrors his ability on Madden. That in a nut shell is pretty dam hard to do. His escapability is effortless and is exciting to watch, case and point. Now if only his 2011 Eagles could start winning. Vick’s jersey sales rank, is higher than his teams wins this year.

2.
Tom Brady has it all right? The multiple super bowl rings, A great team to play for, a model wife. (no pun intended) When you think about the face of the NFL QB, its Tom Brady. They even have the “Brady Rules” although the NFL wont admit it. Brady has been one of the league’s best passers for the last ten years. He’s been a two-time Super Bowl MVP a six-time Pro Bowl selection. He is rewriting the NFL record book as we speak folks. Enough said!

The Champ is here! Mr. Aaron Rodgers has made his presence known. Once known as the QB that fell in the draft or the QB who backed up Favre. Rodgers took his game to places other didn’t expect. He was cool as a cucumber and guided his team to a super bowl last season. Even though he plays in a small market, he is a big time quarterback that the nfl world has their eyes on. In fantasy football or the real life game, Aaron Rodgers is putting up ridiculous numbers either way you look at it. Aaron Rodgers has arrived folks and his jersey sales back up that statement 100%!
DeSean Jackson: Keeps Hope Alive for Pay Day

The average NFL player will be lucky enough to get a big pay day once in his career span. For this to happen, this player must do something extraordinary, show potential, be a budding star, and have it all make sense to the powers that be when it comes time to write a check.
The case against DeSean is that he has a history of serious concussions, and in this day and age, the C word is a bad word in today’s NFL. He’s 25 pounds lighter than most safeties and 75 pounds lighter than most linebackers which doesn’t help his case. What some people might not take notice of is Jacksons catch rate, which is at 51.8 percent. For every big time play, people may forget the 11 dropped balls in 2011 he had. When you look at the numbers, Jackson has caught 172 of the 332 passes thrown to him while with the Eagles. If the Eagles are going to cough up Santonio Holmes like money, this is the area that needs to get better.
With all that being said, what DeSean doesn’t make up for in size & dropped balls, he brings to the table, blazing speed, heart, and determination when the game is on the line. He is what I call a game changer. He is what I call electric. He is what I call home run talent.
Some of the skills Jackson obtains can’t always be measured, perhaps if we compared him to a home run hitter in base ball. This is the type of player who hits the long ball and what I mean by that…DeSean can take it the distance from anywhere on the field.
What’s odd about this whole matter is the Eagles are the type of team that loves to lock up their young players who show potential. Guys such as Trent Cole, Joselio Hanson, Todd Herremans have all been rewarded contracts early. (this list could goon) That is just what the Eagles do.
In just three years with the Eagles he’s went to the Pro Bowl the last two years and averaged over 1,000 yds in receiving and set records in the punt return game, and had the most touchdowns of 60 yards of more by any NFL player in their first three years in the league. Can you say…weapon?
Right now DeSean has to hope that the Eagles front office sees his big play potential and overall likeability as a major plus. After going to Eagles training camp for 3 days straight, all I saw were DeSean Jackson jerseys.
So that only means one thing, the love fans love him too. Its not often, that fans will buy into a player holding out, but from the looks of it the fan base is choosing the side of DeSean.
Desean Jackson on Nnamdi Asomugha “We Need Him”

If you thought it was just fans hoping for Nnamdi Asomugha to wear Eagle Green…Think again. On 97.5 The Fanatic, DeSean Jackson made his feelings known, that he wants to see Nnamdi Asomugha in an Eagles uniform.
Simply put…
“We need him”
Both Asomugha and Jackson played for Cal, and during his past trip to Hawaii in February. At the time, Desean put in some good words with Asomugha then, and he doesn’t have a problem bringing up the idea again.
“I’m going to try and see what I can do; when I leave here I’m going to make a call,” said Jackson, when egged on by the hosts. “During the Pro Bowl I was actually telling him, ‘Come on man, you know we need you over here.’ So I definitely wouldn’t mind calling him.”
Right now, Asomugha is the #1 free agent pick up to be had this year, whenever free agency starts. The 29-year old Asomugha was drafted by the Raiders in 2003 in the first-round, and over the last eight years he’s shown the NFL world what he’s capable of. He signed a three-year, $45 million deal with the Raiders in 2009 however a clause in the contract voided the remaining years at the completion of the 2010 season, making Nnamdia a free agent.
“He has a lot of options, man,” said Jackson, “That’s a lot of money on his plate…The money he’s making is crazy. Hopefully he can take a pay cut and come to the Eagles, and he can see Mike Vick, D-Jackson, Maclin, Celek — we have a good chance over here, man.”
Desean Jackson Punt Return TD for Win vs Giants
The Eagles scored a franchise-record 28 points in the fourth quarter. In fact, all 28 of those points came within the last eight minutes. And the last of them came after the Giants were forced to punt with mere seconds left. But they weren’t forced to punt it to DeSean Jackson. But they did, and he fielded it 65 yards away from the end zone. And yes, DeSean took it to the house for the game-winning touchdown.

Nadin Khoury, a 13-year-old boy from Upper Darby, PA , was bullied by seven classmates known as the “wolfpack” The young teens videotaped a bullying incident and uploaded it to YouTube. What is most impressive is the courage that was shown by Nadin as he attempts to get his message across to those who are bullying out there.
Nadin was invitied to appear on ABC’s “The View” today to speak on the topic of bullying. The well spoken young man got his message across on live television. Nadin who is from the Philadelphia area, is also a huge Eagles fan, The View surpised the young teen with a visit from DeSean Jackson, Jamal Jackson, and Todd Herremans.
Desean Jackson gave the teen the No. 10 jersey off of his back, and Todd and Desean let Nadin and his family know they would get to go to a game of their choice next season.
Hats off to Desean Jackson, Todd Herremans and Jamal Jackson for their kind gesture to uplift Nadin and his family.
DeSean Jackson Selling His Own Jersey at Modell’s
Eagles receiver DeSean Jackson pretended to be a salesman at Modell’s and attempted to sell his own jersey.
The electrifying receiver was much more recognizable than Patriots Danny Woodhead, who tried selling his jersey at Modell’s last week. Most customers immediately figured out that it was Jackson, but that didn’t keep him from trying to stay in character.
“That punt return looked like a video game,” Jackson said, referring to his game-winning touchdown against the New York Giants. “I was actually on lunch break in the back watching it and I’m like ‘that’s just ridiculous.’”
Desean Jackson Game Winning Punt Return Touchdown
The Eagles scored a franchise-record 28 points in the fourth quarter. In fact, all 28 of those points came within the last eight minutes. And the last of them came after the Giants were forced to punt with mere seconds left. But they weren’t forced to punt it to DeSean Jackson. But they did, and he fielded it 65 yards away from the end zone. And yes, DeSean took it to the house for the game-winning touchdown.
