On Monday the Jaguars released two-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle John Henderson , which clearly opens a starting position for the recently drafted Tyson Alualu who was the Jaguars first pick in the draft.

The Jaguars also released Linebackers Brian Iwuw and Tank Daniels as well as Defensive Tackle Montavious Stanley, and withdrew its offer to linebacker Clint Ingram.

In 2009 the dfensive front finished with a franchise low 14 sacks, which gives reason as to why they have made some changes. Jacksonville drafted four defensive linemen, released defensive tackle Rob Meier and traded for veteran linebacker Kirk Morrison and traded away underachieving end Quentin Groves.

The Jaguars made an attempt to trade Henderson during the draft, beu received no takers and decided to relase the eight-year veteran. Henderson is free to sign with any team and two teams that have showed interest are the New York Giants and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Henderson confirmed to 610 Sports Radio in Kansas City that he will be visiting the Chiefs Wednesday.

A first-round pick in 2002, the 6-foot-7, 335-pound Henderson averaged 84 tackles and 4.5 sacks during his first four seasons. He averaged 56.5 tackles and 2.5 sacks the last four years.
