While Burress didn’t exactly find his way back home with the Giants, he spent last season in New York playing for the Jets.

Word on the streets is Plax is now looking to play for the another team familiar with the Giants…the Philadelphia Eagles. Philly is a place that some folks thought he might land in 2011, however things did not work out as planned for Burress.

This season Burress finished with 45 receptions for 612 yards and eight touchdowns, which isn’t too bad considering the circumstances. On March 13, Plaxico will be set to be a free agent again and he has made it clear that he would like to play for the Eagles. Burress recently spoke with WCAU-TV while he was in Indianapolis for the Super Bowl that he wants to play for the Philadelphia Eagles.

With the Eagles in deep thought about their current wide receiver situation, bringing Burress could be an after thought. The Eagles still have to decide what to do with DeSean Jackson and his contract. Do they franchise him, sign him long term or bring in another big free agent wide receiver not named Plaxico Burrress. The Eagles could be tired of waiting on Riley Cooper to emerge and I’m sure Burress could come on the cheap, if he wants in that bad.

Probably the worst loss of the Eagles season, could have been the 21-17 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. The Desean Jacksonless Eagles lost a tough game that was quite easibly winnable for Philadelphia. The loss could in fact spell the end of the playoff hopes for the Eagles.

News for eagles fans has only get worse, with news of Michael Vick missing future games with broken ribs. On the day, Vick took a hefty share of hits and was hit early and often by the Cardinals. Vick suffered the rib injury on the second play of the game against Arizona, and The hit affected Vick during the rest of the game.

When Reid was asked if Vick will play on Sunday, “We’ll see.”

When the Eagles face a pass rush such as the Giants, Vick could be in a world of hurt if he takes too many sacks. The Giants are first in sacks with 30 sacks this season, and best believe they will blitz the Eagles to death. It’s tough to say, if its worth it, to expose Vick to more injury or play a rusty Vince Young. Vick or no Vick next week, the Eagles season looks to be over. The one thing left worth playing for is respect.

Here’s a look at the hottest selling jerseys in the NFL and the reason why their selling like hot cakes!

10. Jason Witten has the opportunity to play for America’s team aka the Dallas Cowboys. When you have a QB that likes to throw you the rock early and often each game it helps. We can’t forget his seven pro bowl selections are nothing to blink at either, which will gain you instant street cred with fans. Jason Witten represents the gutsy play making new breed of tight ends with a old school feel. Fans gotta respect that ,and that’s why you see his jersey on this list.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
9. DeSean Jackson represents some of the new playmaking blood in the NFL, sometimes brash and not afraid to pop his own collar…he has the ability to back it up. You have to love a player who talks the talk and walks the walk. Fast as lightening he’s a pretty exiting dude to watch! Being a big time playmaker put his Jersey on the map with fans. I’m still surprised the Eagles haven’t given this kid a pay raise especially with the Amount his jersey sales are bringing in. Pay the man Eagles!
____________________________________________________________________________________________
8. Miles Austin represents the type of athlete thats come a long way. When I say a long way, I mean he wasn’t drafted, he’s a hard worker, and nobody gave him anything, he worked for it. He also plays for America’s team! On the flipside it never hurts that you’ve dated one of the most celebrated booties of the century belonging to Kim Kardashian. Whether its hard work on the field or dating stars…Austin has earned his mark in the NFL and fans easily respect that.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
7. Now everything I just wrote about Miles Austin can be applied to Tony Romo to a T except swap Kardashian for Jessica Simpson and Carrie Underwood. Although Romo has a had a rocky start this year he’s another gutsy gunslinger and whether you like him or not Romo has done things his own way. The guy has so much charisma he can make Terrell Owens cry for him…that’s impressive.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
6. Drew Brees represents the “stand up guy” who means what he says and says what he does. After the Chargers gave up on him and sent him packing, Brees bounced back and won a super bowl for the city of New Orleans and became a Super bowl MVP. He made the Saints relevant when speaking about the NFL’s elite teams. Fans respect a natural born leader off the field and a field general on the field. ____________________________________________________________________________________________
5. Clay Matthews comes from a football family. Check. He plays in a Football town like Green Bay. Check. He started rocking long blond hair before the release of the Twilight Series trilogy. Check. The guy scares the beegezus out of quarterbacks. Check. He’s a Super bowl Champ. I’d have to say that’s quite the resume.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
4. Troy Polamalu aka the Defensive Player of the Year last year, is the type of player whose is admired on and off the field. This cat is relentless and he has a motor that doesn’t quit. He shows fans how to be awesome on the field and off the field. And honestly who do you know that has a better shampoo commercial than Polamalu’s?
___________________________________________________________________________________________
3. Michael Vick took his game to another level last season for the Eagles, and the NFL world took notice. Vick’s ability on the field almost mirrors his ability on Madden. That in a nut shell is pretty dam hard to do. His escapability is effortless and is exciting to watch, case and point. Now if only his 2011 Eagles could start winning. Vick’s jersey sales rank, is higher than his teams wins this year.
___________________________________________________________________________________________
2. Tom Brady has it all right? The multiple super bowl rings, A great team to play for, a model wife. (no pun intended) When you think about the face of the NFL QB, its Tom Brady. They even have the “Brady Rules” although the NFL wont admit it. Brady has been one of the league’s best passers for the last ten years. He’s been a two-time Super Bowl MVP a six-time Pro Bowl selection. He is rewriting the NFL record book as we speak folks. Enough said!
____________________________________________________________________________________________
1. The Champ is here! Mr. Aaron Rodgers has made his presence known. Once known as the QB that fell in the draft or the QB who backed up Favre. Rodgers took his game to places other didn’t expect. He was cool as a cucumber and guided his team to a super bowl last season. Even though he plays in a small market, he is a big time quarterback that the nfl world has their eyes on. In fantasy football or the real life game, Aaron Rodgers is putting up ridiculous numbers either way you look at it. Aaron Rodgers has arrived folks and his jersey sales back up that statement 100%!

Sources say Michael Vick is expected to play this weekend. Although he hasn’t passed all tests yet, the Eagles assume he will be able to play Sunday versus the Giants this Sunday.

Monday, Rick Burkholder head athletic trainer for the Eagles would not give a timetable for Vick’s return.

“That’s foolish on our part medically to put a time frame out there,” Burkholder said Monday. “Everybody wants to know a time frame, everybody wants to know whether Mike’s going to play, everybody wants to know whether Mike’s going to practice. We’re going to go through our protocol and when Mike’s ready to practice, I’m going to turn him over to Coach and he’s going to make a decision whether he’s ready to play, had reps, all that kind of stuff.”

Vick suffered the injured in the third quarter against the Falcons, unfortunately he turned right into right tackle Todd Herremans. Vick’s neck whipped back and he bit his tongue, which is why he was seen spitting blood leaving the field. Vick barely failed those baseline tests, so the medical staff kept him on the sideline, but he was ready to go back on the field. However that was not the case and the Eagles wanted to make sure he was healthy before they put him back on the field.

“He was just a little bit off, enough that we acted on the side of caution to hold him back as our standard protocol says,” Burkholder said. “I was with him on the airplane. He was absolutely fine last night. As the days go on, we’ll see, but last night he was pretty good. He told Coach he was fine, he told his teammates he was fine, he told me he was fine, and he was very far along last night.”

Andy Reid was comforted after he spoke with Vick after the game.

“He remembered everything,” Reid said Monday. “He recalled everything. I tried to quiz him and see where he was at. He was frustrated that he wasn’t able to finish. He had a vested interest in finishing.”

Antrelle Rolle spoke on the matter on Tuesday

“I want the best of the best,” he said on his weekly radio spot with WFAN. “And he is the best. I hope Michael Vick plays, because at the end of the day, I don’t want any excuses when we go down to Philly and put it to them the way we will.”

Michael Vick understands the meaning of this weeks game with the Atlanta Falcons.

That means he understands that this game is not about him, this game is about the Eagles winning the second game of the season. Although the media will tell a different story, Vick knows to get the show on the road, a win in Atlanta will be huge for a trip to the playoffs. The Eagles under Andy Reid have been known to start slow and finish strong. However the Eagles only 2-0 start over the past 17 years came in 2004, when they happened to reach the Super Bowl.

As much hype as the media will build about Vick looking for revenge or Vick looking to build on his redemption story…DON’T BUY IT. The old Vick may have focused on other things, but the new Vick is more than happy to be playing and competing in the game that he loves. The opportunity for greatness lies in a second team win on the road.

Just like the last time Vick and the Eagles visited Atlanta two years ago, he was gracious. Nothing has changed in those two years.

Vick briefly speaks on that moment two years ago:

“I just remember being in the Dome with the crowd cheering my name, which was special to me and all my teammates,” Vick recalled. “They thought that was the greatest thing in the world. Everybody on the sideline came up to me to say how excited they were to be part of a situation like that. They had never seen it before.”
“I will always remember that day, and not for the plays I made,” he said. “That was just a fraction of the joy I felt that day. It’s just the appreciation from the Atlanta Falcons fans I felt that day, even though I was in a Philadelphia Eagles uniform.”

What’s changed for Vick is he’s now the starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles. He just signed a huge contract and has the weight of the city’s hopes for a Super Bowl run resting on his shoulders. Can you say pressure? Although pressure is just a part of the game, Vick looks at things in a different perspective.

“I know things happen for a reason. Maybe it was meant for me to be here. I couldn’t have landed in a better city, a better place. This is my home, this is where I want to be. I’m just thankful for that.”

If the Eagles are looking to show the rest of league who they are, they’ll have to beat the defending NFC South champions, who are the Falcons. Good teams always do one thing, and that’s win on the road. Look for Vick and the Eagles to make their presence known this Sunday.

Whenever a player receives a $100 million dollar deal its usually a once in lifetime opportunity. In Michael Vick’s case…make that two $100-million contracts.

Back in 2005 at the age of 24, Vick received a 10 year contract worth $130 million with the Atlanta Falcons. When Vick signed this deal it, he was on top of his game and it seemed he was destined for greatness.
The harsh reality is Vick went through some tough times over the past couple of years. The first pick in the 2001 draft had went from super stardom to being bankrupt and broke,to being locked up. Basically going from hero to zero, now back to the role of hero for Philadelphia. Many people believed that Vick would never come back from his harsh situation, but he proved many wrong that doubted him along the way.

Vick chose to prove that he changed, not just on the field, but most importantly off the field. Although Vick may have many doubters to this day, he has chosen to live his life in the best way he knows how, with the help of various positive outlets. Vick has allowed his life to be an example for those who will listen.

These days public speaking has become a way of life for Vick, speaking to various Boys and Girls clubs and different outreach programs dealing with kids and young teens. While it seems there are some folks that have written off the old as well as new Michael Vick, The important part of the Michael Vick project is letting kids know what he did was wrong and that his involvement in dog fighting led him down a dark path that led him to jail.

With that being said, the Eagles have chose to believe in the future with Michael Vick, so much so, they signed him to a $100 million, which $40 million of that is guaranteed. This new contract is Vick’s reward and with that big contract, also comes big responsibility. Vick’s deal puts him in company with Peyton Manning, Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger, whom all have super bowl rings.

What this contract means, is the Eagles organization is fully invested in Vick and they think he has what it takes to get them to the Superbowl. The Philadelphia Eagles aren’t just any run of the mill franchise. The Eagles are the type of team, who think things through, and obviously they’ve put the microscope on the new Michael Vick and like what they see.

Michael Vick will be officially tagged by the Philadelphia Eagles next month, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Since the end of the season all signs have been leading to this happening.

In perfect world, Vick would prefer a long-term deal, however he is probably set to make a cool $20 million for 2011. That hefty price is actually the average salary for the five highest-paid quarterbacks in the NFL. The Eagles will now place priority on fielding offers for Kevin Kolb, who is still a hot topic for teams who need a starting QB.

Kolb has made it known to those who will listen that he wants to “start somewhere” in 2011. Kolb is set to make $1.4 million in 2011, and with that price tag he makes sense to teams such as the Vikings, Cardinals, Panthers or even maybe the Redskins.

With the Franchise tag being placed on Vick it will be interesting to see if it alters the relationship with the Eagles. Vick has made it known that he clearly wants to remain with the Eagles long term, especially since Reid and Jeff Lurie gave him a second chance when other teams did not.
