The Seattle Seahawks announced that they have signed receiver Mike Williams to a three-year extension with Seattle.
He caught 65 passes this season despite missing all of two games and most of a third because of injuries to his right foot and ankle. A top-10 choice in 2005, Williams played for three teams in his first three seasons and was not on an NFL roster the past two seasons.
The 6-5, 231-pound Williams has been a favorite target of Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, and leads the team in receptions (62) and receiving yards (735) this season, making him a candidate for the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year.

QB’s
Week 2 Pickups
If your fantasy quarterbacks happens to be Kevin Kolb (concussion) or Matthew Stafford (shoulder), Look no further than Michael Vick , Matt Hasselbeck or David Garrard they could all serve as a replacements this week.
Eagles – Michael Vick showcased some speed and arm strength in Week 1, Vick created a QB controversy with his stellar play against a tough Green Bay defense he threw some darts which were on target and made many plays with his legs. Vick completed 16 of 24 pass attempts for 175 yards and a touchdown and chipped in an additional 103 rushing yards on 11 carries. With Kolb still suffering a concussion look for Vick to regain form against the Lions.
Seahawks – Matt Hasselbeck played decent in Week 1, he completed 18 of 23 passes for 170 yards and two touchdowns. He scored a TD on a short run. Hasselbeck has new a wideout in Mike Williams and reliable tight end John Carlson. Next up for Hasselbeck: the Denver Broncos, who gave up 170 yards and 3 touchdowns to David Garrard (and a whopping 76% completion percentage). Hasselbeck looks like a solid start for week 2. BREAKDOWN – NFC West
By Steve O’Reilly
The NFC West is a Division that is wide open and depending who you ask, can be had by anyone. The Cardinals have the most talent, arguably, followed closely by the 49ers. The issue with the Cardinals however is Kurt Warner is gone and the new starter, Derek Anderson, leaves some a bit nervous as to how far he can take them. The Niners are young but made strides in 2009 and if they continue along that path they should be tough to beat, the issue with them is the same as the Cardinals, how much do you trust their QB. In their case it’s former 1st Overall pick Alex Smith. For the Seahawks, they brought in a new Head Coach from USC and some new players to boot but of all the NFC West teams they have the best Quarterback…when he’s upright! The St. Louis Rams also have a #1 Overall pick on their roster and he too plays Quarterback, his name is Sam Bradford and the kid from Oklahoma has been turning some heads. What lies ahead for all these West Coast squads? Let’s take a spin around the Division and break it all down!! Read more
