Tebow improving mechanics?
The biggest knock on Tim Tebow has been narrowed down to one thing, his throwing mechanics. His elongated motion and inaccurate footwork has led him to be erratic when throwing the ball. Proof of this lies no deeper than his 46% completion percentage and the 38 Minutes without a completion in the Broncos vs Dolphins game last season.
Tebow is a proven winner however, shown in his late 4th Quarter heroics otherwise known as “Tebow Time”. The Broncos went and acquired Peyton Manning and then traded Tebow to the Jets for a 4th Round pick. Tebow has been said to have been working extremely hard on his mechanics this offseason and perhaps his efforts are working.
Jets QB Coach, Matt Cavanaugh told the New York press -
“I think he can be very good,” Cavanaugh said “I was pleasantly surprised when I saw him over an extended period of time . . . not just watching him play on film. I think he’s certainly got the arm strength. He has good mechanics. They’re getting better every day.”
THE SKINNY: If Tebow can in fact become a comfortable pocket passer and learn to make all the throws with proper technique and footwork, he could be a very dangerous QB. Big and strong armed, as well as being a powerful runner that you wouldn’t expect from a QB, Tebow might just be making strides to becoming one of the most complete QB’s in the League. If in fact he can learn to throw with accuracy, there won’t be anything he can’t do.
Hard Knocks: Jets Get Scratched Off The List

Scratch the Jets off the list of teams that might be a part of HBO’s Hard Knocks. The New York Daily News reported that the team is no longer under consideration and that HBO still has time to decide which franchise to feature.
“Whatever,” Rex Ryan said, before stumbling on his words for a moment. He then added: “This is news to me, so that’s fine.”
The Skinny: Im pretty sure the Jets would have jumped at the opportunity again, especially with Tim Tebow in the house. With Tebow being one of the most talked about players in the NFL, the show was bound to be a ratings getter, which would have meant much merchandise sales.

Jets & Bengals Show Interest in Braylon Edwards Services

Adam Schefter reported the Bengals and Jets have shown some interest in WR Braylon Edwards.
It does make sense that the Jets have interest in Edwards due to his chemistry with Sanchez, and at this point in Sanchez’s career he needs a WR that is familiar with him asap. With the Bengals looking to solidify the WR corps signing Edwards could give them another deep threat and open things up for A.J. Green, especially now that Jerome Simpson is gone. The Bengals have put high hopes in draft picks on Mohamed Sanu and Marvin Jones to mature fast.
The Skinny: Edwards past injuries could play a part in his effectiveness in 2012. If fully healed, he can provide another weapon in the pass game for the red rifle. Don’t forget that Edwards is a good run blocker. Edwards underwent surgery late last season, and the word was he was still rehabbing early this spring. Don’t be surprised if the Texans take a flyer on Edwards with Jacoby Jones gone too.
Jets: Meet the 2012 Draft Class
ROUND 1: Quinton Coples, DE, North Carolina
The Jets believe Coples can help their pass rush as a five-technique lineman. Coach Rex Ryan said he will play “with his hand in the dirt” and likened him to former Jets DE Shaun Ellis.
Coples has size and quickness, but his motivation and work ethic were questioned when he slumped in his senior season. The Jets aren’t worried about that, and believe the position switch from tackle to end caused that problem. Coples had 17.5 sacks the past two seasons. Ryan believes Coples has the athleticism to play outside linebacker, but said he doesn’t intend to use him there.
The Jets haven’t been shy about quickly working in young players on defense, and 2011 first-round pick Muhammad Wilkerson was a starter at defensive end all season. Incumbent end Mike DeVito still is productive as a run-stuffer, so the Jets could look to use Coples more in passing situations while grooming him for a larger role in the future. His experience as a defensive tackle figures to help him as he adjusts to primarily being a 3-4 end.
ROUND 2: Stephen Hill, WR, Georgia Tech
Hill has big-time speed and can be a deep threat immediately, but will need a crash course in the nuances of NFL route-running because he comes from a school that exclusively used the run-oriented triple-option offense. His excellent blocking ability will be welcomed by smash-mouth-oriented coach Rex Ryan, who wants to use the Wildcat with Tim Tebow.
The Jets have an opening at No. 2 receiver behind mercurial Santonio Holmes, with second-year pro Jeremy Kerley (already a good slot receiver) and former Oakland Raider Chaz Schilens also candidates. Hill, who turned pro after his junior season, isn’t ready to start immediately but the Jets lacked big-play capability last season and certainly will use him for that potential.
Round 3: Demario Davis, OLB, Arkansas State
Davis was a force against the run in college and figures to help the Jets in that area to some extent. He also has the ability to drop into coverage. The Jets also believe he can contribute immediately on special teams, an area that needs help after several stalwarts have departed via free agency in recent years.
Look for him to be used this season a lot on special teams, and for him to ease his way slowly into the rotation at inside linebacker. Bart Scott is in the final season of a four-year contract, and Davis could be his heir apparent. Scott, a hard-hitter and run-stuffer, has struggled at times playing in space, and it appears that is a strength for Davis.
ROUND 6: JOSH BUSH, S, Wake Forest
Bush is a very much under-the-radar player who nonetheless had six interceptions as a senior, including two versus Notre Dame. Also has experience at corner, so while the learning curve won’t necessarily be easy, the Jets believe he has the ability to help them in one of their weaknesses, covering tight ends and slot receivers in the middle of the field.
ROUND 6: TERRANCE GANAWAY, RB, Baylor
The 5-foot-11, 241-pounder gives the Jets an even bigger back than Shonn Greene for new coordinator Tony Sparano’s offense. However, his lack of pass-receiving skills at this point likely means he won’t play much right away, although he might have potential in short-yardage and goal-line situations.
ROUND 6: ROBERT T. GRIFFIN, G, Baylor
At 330 pounds, he certainly is massive, and also fits into the Jets’ renewed emphasis on smash-mouth. He only played two years at Baylor after transferring from a junior college, so this likely will be a development year for him. But keep in mind that the contracts of both LG Matt Slauson and veteran RG Brandon Moore expire after this season.
ROUND 7: ANTONIO ALLEN, SS, South Carolina
Coach Rex Ryan believes this will be a value pick. Allen played a safety/linebacker hybrid position for the Gamecocks, so doesn’t have as much experience in coverage as most NFL-caliber safeties would by now. However, he is a sure tackler and already possesses the ability to make plays near the line of scrimmage. Ryan likes to use his DBs for blitzing purposes, and Allen fits.
ROUND 7: JORDAN WHITE, WR, Western Michigan
Was a prolific pass-catcher for WMU despite sitting out medical redshirt seasons in both 2006 and 2008 because of knee woes. Perhaps that’s the reason why he isn’t the speediest wideout. Still, he does have the ability to run precise routes and catch the ball in tight spaces. Projects as a possession WR but may need to contribute on special teams right away to stick.
Revis Could Hold Out for Another Pay Day

Darrelle Revis isn’t a happy camper these days and its all about…guess what? His contract. At the moment he hasn’t ruled out a hold out, so Jets Nation is holding their breath on line one. Back in 2010 Revis held out for over a month and it got him a four-year, $46 million extension. Can you really blame him for not wanting to stay on top of the food chain?
“I just don’t know,” he said. “I’m not saying I am going to holdout. I’m not saying I’m not.”
The Skinny: At the ripe age of 26 and still in his prime, he’s dominating at his position. Revis will not sit around quietly when guys like Brandon Carr and Cortland Finnegan get big pay days and make more than him. Lets get real here, Revis holds all the leverage in the world and when you’re the best corner in the game you got to be the highest paid. according to Revis’ world. I don’t blame him, when you have leverage like he does, you use it!
Pre Draft Visits: New York Jets
By Gayle Saunders

League rules allow each team to bring in 30 players for predraft visits. No on-field work is allowed. The visits are simply an opportunity for the players to sit down with the coaches, as well as the personnel people, for any additional questions, football or otherwise.
Not every player accepts every invitation he receives, so teams don’t always get the first 30 players they requested. But coaches often will look at video with players to get a sense of their football awareness, or put them to work, marker in hand, on the dry-erase board to see how they dissect certain game situations.
One important fact to note from last years draft is, 21 of the NFL’s 32 1st round selections had confirmed pre-draft visits and/or workouts with the NFL teams they were selected by. So there is a good shot that he players below will get drafted if they’re on the board during the teams draft selection.
Below we’ll be updating the chart of pre-draft visits, if you have a player visit you’d like us to add to the chart leave a comment and I’ll add it. Thanks for your help in advance!

Atlanta Falcons on HBO’s Hard Knocks?
Yeremiah Bell Draws Interest from 3 Teams

According to the Miami Herald, Drew Rosenhaus said there are 3 teams interested in Bells services. New York Jets, New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles.
After the Miami Dolphins released Yeremiah Bell, there was rumors that they could re-sign the veteran for another go around, however with Dolphins bringing in Tyrell Johnson, Drew Rosenhaus has announced on his weekly TV gig that there will be no reunion between Bell and the Dolphins.
The Skinny: Yeremiah Bell is solid player, but with his salary the Dolphins had to let him go. Even though he’s lost a step, he can still provide help for CBs. He is smart on the field and a great tackler. It’s not yet known which of the above mentioned teams are serious players for Bell. I could see the Eagles making a play for his services. The Eagles didn’t like Laron Landry’s price tag, but bringing in a reasonably priced veteran like Bell could also help with the maturation of Nate Allen and Jaiquawn Jarrett.
Are the Jets Knocking on Hard Knocks door?

Looks like the Jets could be looking for another opportunity on HBO’s Hard Knocks folks.
There have been multiple reports, that the Jets are deciding whether they should except an invitation if asked to appear on another season of the show.
The Skinny: When you have one of the most talked about athletes in the game in Tim Tebow, the potential QB drama in NYC, and Rex Ryan the living sound byte machine, thats a recipe for prime time television folks. People love to hate on Rex Ryan, but the Jets have my approval! Now lets go eat a god damn snack!
