Looks like Mike Brown, who is the Bengals owner is having second thoughts on bringing in receiver Terrell Owens.

Mike Brown said Monday that the Bengals organization is in talks regarding a possible contract with Owens’ agent, Drew Rosenhaus. Owens had a worked out for the Bengals in late March, however they decided to go with receiver Antonio Bryant, who they signed for a four-year deal.

Quarterback Carson Palmer is working out with the 36-year-old Owens in. Palmer has reported back to coach Marvin Lewis and so far the reports on Owens have been good.

Mike Brown is known for giving players with baggage extra chances. No moatter what has been reported, Brown said he sat down with Owens back in March and was really impressed with him.

Chad Ochocinco has lobbied for the Bengals Organization to sign Owens. Both of them are also good friends…oddly enough they also have the same agent Drew Rosenhaus.

Where Will T.O. Land Now?

On Tuesday, Owens told The Associated Press that, unlike some of the NFL’s “golden boys,” he’s never been disciplined by the league. He defies the long-standing perception that he’s a troublemaker, and points to a state of personal calm with the Bills in 2009, despite Buffalo’s off-the-hinges season.

“There were a number of times where prior I probably would have reacted, said something I wasn’t supposed to say,” Owens told The AP. “I really had some restraint, very patient.”

Wednesday morning, Owens hit the airwaves to promote the second season of VH1′s “The T.O. Show.” Try as he might to pitch this gem, nobody would have it. Talk immediately moved to football — and Owens didn’t disappoint.

In an interview with 96.5 The Buzz in Kansas City, T.O. dismissed the idea of playing for the Chiefs.

“Me and Todd Haley, we don’t get along,” Owens told the host.
Owens made it clear to Boston’s WJMN Radio that the Patriots were a different story.

“I’d definitely be open to that,” he said.

“I mean, you’ve got (Tom) Brady there. You’ve got the great mind, coach (Bill) Belichick,” Owens said. “I’m like LeBron. I can go there and take less of a role, take less money and put everything aside and make it work.”

A source with knowledge of the situation says that a bunch of teams have made exploratory calls for Terrell Owens services. One of those teams are the Seattle Seahawks.

The nature of all the calls, which have come at different times of the offseason, have been very preliminary.

However, The Seahawks at one point were looking into bringing in Brandon Marshall. They could be out of the wide receiver market after selecting Notre Dame’s Golden Tate in the second round of last month’s draft or could be looking for veteran help at WR to solidify the unit.

Owens is expected to find some work at some point only a handful of teams have ruled out signing him. The interest level isn’t high just yet, but look for T.O. land in a city near you soon. Last season, Owens caught 55 passes for 829 yards and five touchdowns with the Buffalo Bills.

Owens, 36, ranks third on the NFL’s all-time list in receiving yards (14,951) and touchdowns (144), and he’s sixth in catches (1,006). He started his career with the San Francisco 49ers (1996-2003), then played for the Philadelphia Eagles (2004-05) and Dallas Cowboys (2006-08) before joining the Bills last season.

Are the one time dynamic duo T.O. and Donovan McNabb back at it again? Its been reported that Donovan McNabb has made it known to Washington’s coaching staff that signing free agent Terrell Owens is something that he would encourage.

Coach Mike Shanahan also made it known that at the moment the Redskins are not actively pursuing Owens. An inside source of the Redskins said that upgrading at the WR position is a priority and they look to be aggressive, but would rather avoid bringing Owens into their locker room if another option can be found. Shanahan’s first minicamp with the Redskins provided some insight that the WR position was a concern. Veterans Jerry Porter, Roydell Williams and Marques Hagans participated, and the team ended up signing Hagans and Williams Monday night. Roydell Williams last played in 2007 with the Tennessee Titans.

It has been said by a source close to McNabb that he and Owens recently talked about the possibility of reuniting while recently shooting an episode for a television show in Los Angeles. The “Pros v. Joes” episode which features McNabb and Owens playing together on the same basketball team. The episode will air on Spike in July.

The one time Superbowl teammates could look to mend fences to find a happy ending to their one time rocky relationship. Football fans stay tuned on this story as its far from over.

The agent for Terrell Owens, Drew Rosenhaus said that there are three NFL teams that he is in “active discussions” with.

Rosenhaus is attending the NFL Annual Meeting this week to meet with interested teams but that they have “asked me not to identify them, on or off the record.”

He did say that the Bengals, who brought in Owens for a visit but signed Antonio Bryant, most likely are no longer a destination for his client.

“I don’t think that’s a realistic possibility,” Rosenhaus said, given the salary and starting status that he believes Owens commands.
Rosenhaus reiterated several times that Owens is still a “starter,” that they would “be patient” and a deal might not come together until “right before training camp”, which some might take as an indication of the level of interest in the free-agent receiver.

Rosenhaus also said that despite some reports that Owens wouldn’t play for less than the $6.5 million he made with the Buffalo Bills last season, there “is no set number” that they are seeking or demanding in negotiations.

“We’re very flexible,” Rosenhaus said.
