Cardinals Lose Ryan Williams for the Season

Tough news for Cardinals nation, as the Cardinals will lose RB Ryan Williams for the rest of the season.
On Monday, Ken Whisenhunt let it be known that Williams will need surgery on his shoulder and he will miss the rest of the season. The injury occurred last Thursday’s loss to the Rams, when he suffered a major hit from Rams Darian Stewart. After Williams was hit he did not return to the game.
For a guy like Williams who has struggled being healthy it must be tough missing last season with a season-ending knee injury in the preseason. Now when the Cardinals are just five games into this season he is out with a Shoulder injury. Williams end the season with 164 yards on 58 carries and seven catches for 44 yards.
THE SKINNY: Where do the Cardinals turn from here with RB Beanie Wells on the injured-reserve list already (who could possibly return). Alfonso Smith is now in the mix with William Powell to get carries. Larod Stephens-Howlings has also been nursing a hip injury for the last two weeks. So it’s pretty safe to say the Cardinals backfield has been bitten by the injury bug.
