Cedric Benson signs with the Packers

The former Chicago Bear and Cincinnati Bengal Running Back is now a Green Bay Packer. Cedric Benson signed a 1 year deal with the Packers today shortly after their starting Running Back, James Starks suffered a turf toe injury that will sideline him for a few weeks.

The former 4th Overall pick of the Chicago Bears in 2005 resurrected his career during his time Cincinnati with the Bengals. He has had 3 straight 1000 yard seasons while being the feature Back in Cincy.

THE SKINNY: The deal became official today and Benson has a great chance to become the Packers starter for the duration of the year. The Packers are a Pass first team and will mix in running plays to keep Defenses honest. Benson could flourish in that type of role and will bring Veteran experience to already dynamic offense.
