The secret’s out: Drew Brees’ pre-game chant he used to fire up the Saints on it’s Super Bowl run. Brees refused to let reporters in on it, telling them it was just for him and the players. But after last night’s parade, Brees dropped by Lucy’s bar in the Warehouse District, and shared it with the patrons there.
Brees’ visit surprised some of the customers.
“We were at Lucy’s after the parade, just hanging out, and I saw this guy come running up, he was kind of hunched over, and I said ‘who is this guy?’ And I turn around and it was Drew Brees!” said Daniel in Destrehan, a caller to WWL First News with Bob Delgiorno Wednesday.
“The place went crazy,” he continued. “He was just having a good time and hanging with the real fans, and…he actually got on the microphone and started doing his pre-game chant with the crowd.”
“When I say ‘three,’ you say ‘four,’ when I say ‘win,’, you say ’some more,” Brees told the crowd, who happily obliged.
Here’s the script for the chant:
Brees: One
Team: Two
Brees: Win
Team: For you
Brees: Three
Team: Four
Brees: Win
Team: Some more
Brees: Five
Team: Six
Brees: Win
Team: For kicks
Brees: Seven
Team: Eight
Brees: Win
Team: It’s great
Brees: Nine
Team: Ten
Brees: Win
Team: Again
Brees: Win
Team: Again
Brees: Win
Team: Again
