Portis hopes to play again

Clinton Portis is looking to get back into the NFL. The oft injured RB was once a dangerous weapon in the backfield rushing for over 3000 yards in his first two seasons with the Denver Broncos. After his found success and apparent contract situation with the Broncos, he was traded to the Washington Redskins for Champ Bailey and a 2nd Rd pick. Over the next 7 seasons with Washington he amassed almost 7000 more yards. Styles make players and unfortunately the “in between the tackles” style of running took it’s toll on the talented back.
“I’m ready to go back, ready to work things out and I’m open to idea of going out to prove that I can still play,” Portis told NFL.com. “I just turned 30 and with nine years in the NFL and six 1,000-yard seasons that’s enough right there to show what I can do. I’m just ready to go prove to whatever team that’s ready and willing to open the doors to go out and prove it.”
Clinton needs only 77 more yards to reach 10,000 for his career!

I wonder if ol’ Inspector Tu-Tu still has any gas left in the tank? He was always making jokes with the media but he wasnt a bad character guy. Give him a shot in training camp and see what hes got. Tampa could use him! but he wasnt very explosive before he hung it up… Gotta kick the tires on this one.
Shane, what about Mr. Hillis? Looks like the and the Browns might not be on the same page. If he’s available, maybe they can go out and get a deadly one – two punch!
