Sorry T.O. Bengals go with Bryant!

The Cincinnati Bengals had brought in a few Wide Receivers this offseason in order to boost their pass catching corps. Chad Ochocinco was lobbying hard for Terrell Owens. On Twitter, Chad was making claims that he and T.O would be the next Batman and Robin! While the idea of T.O. and Chad in the same huddle would be dynamic, Marvin Lewis and the Bengals went in a different direction.

Sorry T.O. but the Bengals aren't interested!!
Antonio Bryant was the #1 Receiver with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers where he had his best NFL season in 2008. He led the team with 83 catches for 1248 yards and 7 TD’s. Following that season the Buccaneers placed the Franchise Tag on him. In 2009 he had a injury plagued year and his numbers struggled. Part of it was his injuries and the other part was a lack of a QB to get him the ball. The Bucs were run heavy as they had no other option, their QB’s were that inexperienced.
For Terrell Owens, he is still without a team for 2010. Eventually, we imagine, he will get signed by someone. It may take a training camp injury or perhaps T.O. and his agent lower their asking price.

Antonio Bryant joins Chad Ochocinco to make a nice WR tandem!!
The Bengals, having released Laveranues Coles this offseason, have also signed Wide Receiver Matt Jones who played for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jones is expected to compete for a roster spot but is not a lock to make the team.
The pairing of Chad Ochocinco and Antonio Bryant gives Carson Palmer two very nice weapons in the passing game and bolster’s an offense that finished 24th in the league in yards and 22nd in scoring. The 10-6 Bengals will look to improve those rankings and take a bigger stride in 2010 …. without Terrell Owens!
