If you are looking for a free agent or waiver wire pickup, here are a couple of the best options likely available out there.  Its time to get smart and make sure your Fantasy team is ready for the playoffs.

QUARTERBACKS

Chad Henne - Miami DolphinsMiami Dolphins- Chad Henne who passed for 300-yards with two scores against New England, could be a possible play… the exception: The Jags, who are without corner Rashean Mathis, have struggled  in pass coverage over the past few weeks. Since Week 9, they’ve given up 248.6 yards and 1.4 touchdowns per game.  Ricky Williams is no doubt the heart and soul of The Dolphins offense, but Henne will keep the defense honest. He might reach 230-250 yards and two scores this weekend.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Ryan Fitzpatrick - Buffalo BillsBuffalo Bills – Ryan Fitzpatrick With new head coach Perry Fewell intact he has encouraged his QB to go DEEP!  Despite last week, the previous two games he was averaging 271.5 yards per game with two touchdowns. He also added in 55 rushing yards and a rushing TD. Buffalo’s opponent this week, Kansas City, who has had a hard time defending the pass this season. Kansas City has allowed 260.2 yards and 1.8 TDs by air per game, equal to the fifth-most fantasy points allowed. Fitzpatrick’s skills, along with Terrell Owens and Lee Evans and the increased aggressiveness in the pass game could make for some big numbers down the stretch.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________RUNNING BACKS

Jerome Harrison - Cleveland Browns

Cleveland Browns – Jerome Harrison Last week versus San Diego, he totaled 97 yards and two touchdowns along with 7 receptions. His matchup against Pittsburgh isnt the best matchup, Pittsburgh has surrendered just 103.8 total yards per game and five touchdowns this season to rushers, the second-fewest fantasy points allowed. Despite the matchup, Harrison’s workload, versatility and weak upcoming opponents in Kansas City, Oakland, Jacksonville make him a perfect option if you are in need.  He should not be overlooked.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Leonard Weaver - Philadelphia Eagles

Philadelphia Eagles – Leonard Weaver Last week he looked like the Eagles go to guy, with 100 total yards and a TD on seven touches. He’s a big bruiser, with great hands (59 catches, 535 yards the past two seasons with Seattle). He has averaged six yards per carry this season, and gets the Giants a team he ran for 75 yards and a score against in Week 8. Keep watch of Brian Westbrooks possible return, if Westy is a no go, Weaver’s increased workload will continue, the Eagles fullback is a solid option.

TIGHT END

Jermichael Finley - Green Bay PackersGreen Bay Packers – Jermichael Finley- proves to be worth a pick up as we have been pushing him on you guys for 3 weeks. Last week,  7 catches for 79 yards and 2 TDs: he should be in your lineup ASAP!

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Fred Davis - Washington RedskinsWashington Redskins – Fred Davis – has been # 10th-ranked TE since taking over for Chris Cooley  in Week 9, catching 17 passes for 196 yards and two TDs the last five weeks. In terms of passes thrown his way, only eight other tight ends have been targeted more than Davis over that same span. His opponents are a mixed bag when it comes to covering tight ends, but Week 15 against the Giants should be a nice matchup. The Giants have been terrible defending TE’s since injuries to the linebacking core, yielding 10 catches, 110 yards and 0.5 TDs to the position since Week 9

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Bo Scaife - Tennessee Titans Tennessee Titans – Bo Scaife is ranking among the top 10 in both standard and PPR formats the last three weeks (14 catches, 162 yards one TD from Weeks 11-13). He’s also been targeted 22 times over that span, good for eighth among TE’s. He’ll get St. Louis, Miami and San Diego in the fantasy playoffs, teams that have combined to allow four catches, 52 yards and 1.2 TDs per game to opposing TEs.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

WIDE RECEIVERS

Devin Thomas - Washington Redskins

Washington Redskins – Devin Thomas Last week Thomas was a beast!  as Jason Campbell’s favorite target last week, he had seven catches for 100 yards and two scores, all career bests.  This week, Washington faces the up and down recently inspired Raiders. Oakland has struggled defending the pass lately. Since Week 9, Oakland has allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to receivers. If Thomas can get another 6-8 targets out of  Campbell, he might have a 50-70 yard/TD performance.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Davone Bess - Miami Dolphins

Miami Dolphins – Davone Bess he is one of the league’s more polished receivers. During the past six weeks he’s attracted 9.2 targets, 4.8 receptions and 57 yards per game, including a career-best 10 catches for 117 yards and a score last week versus New England. This week the Dolphins play in Jacksonville, he could definitely post big numbers again. Recently the Jags have been shredded by top targets. Since Week 9 they’ve given up the eighth-most fantasy points to wideouts. Miami loves to run the rock, however with the Jaguars suspect pass defense, Bess should be sitting pretty in your line-up.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Jason Avant - Philadelphia EaglesPhiladelphia Eagles- Jason Avant- The Eagles slot receiver is once again a potential play this week, with Desean Jackson being worked back into the offense.  Avant could still be a decent option for some targets.  He should be available…and word to the wise he’s been known to be McNabbs trusty go to guy in the clutch.  __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Robert Meachem - New Orleans SaintsNew Orleans Saints – Robert Meachem – We’ve recommended adding Meachem the past 4 weeks, and he’s delivered with five scores against the Rams, Bucs,Patriots and Washinton.  If he’s even there still GRAB him.  His last game : 8 rec 142 yds and a TD and Beast of the Week Honors!

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Mark Clayton - Baltimore RavensBaltimore Ravens -Mark Clayton –  This week the Ravens play the Detroit Lions.  The Lions’ run defense has come up big these days however they have given up some huge yards in the passing game. Since Week 9,The Lions have given up the the most yards, second-most touchdowns and second-most fantasy points to pass catchers. Clayton hasn’t found the end zone since Week 6 and has eclipsed the 80-yard mark just once this season, If its any time to play him… its this week.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Josh Morgan - San Francisco 49ersSanFrancico 49ers - Josh Morgan – With Isaac Bruce on the sidelines and the newly installed spread-heavy scheme, Morgan is starting to deliver. He was targeted 16 times over the past two weeks, he’s totaled 12 receptions, 99 yards and a touchdown. Another 50-60-yard, one-TD performance could be on the horizon.  The 49ers next opponent, Arizona Cardinals, they have gave up the 6th most fantasy points to receivers this year.

DEFENSE
Tennessee Titans
Tennessee’s hopes for a playoff spot were temporarily halted last week in Indianapolis. The Titans did not record a sack or turnover in Week 13, no surprise playing the Colts. This week, expect them to get their mojo back against the Rams. They’ve given up six defensive touchdowns, 2.3 sacks and 2.0 turnovers per game. Back at home and clinging to playoff hopes, the Titans still might have something to play for if they win out.

  1. Michelle Jarvis says:

Clayton has a hamstring injury from Monday night and the Baltimore Media is acting as though Kelley Washington & Demetrius Williams will be taking most of his reps Sunday. If this ends up being the case, Kelley Washington (who found the endzone in GB Monday night) might be worth taking a look at for just this week instead of Clayton.

I believe the last update I got was doubtful.
